When Animal Rescue is Mental Illness

I covered three cases over the weekend of animal rights activists stalking animal owners on social media.  Three cases in which the activists crossed over the line and committed criminal acts without any penalty. One case involved a chocolate lab named Brewer.  You know what was behind this case?  A simple neighborhood dispute in which one neighbor decided to retaliate against another.  In Animal Rights Dominated America, activists love these types of feuds.

A highly profitable animal flipper named Marsha Chambers running a for-profit business called "Hopes Haven" in Oregon used her Facebook page to whip up a cyber lynch mob to go and steal the dog out of his yard. Someone did. The Sheriff threatened felony charges if the dog wasn't returned to his lawful owner in 48 hours.

The dog was returned.  The Sheriff's Office has stated that the dog is FINE.  He is healthy, he is happy, he is in good weight.  He was NOT abused by his owner.

The activists are crying in their tofu.

Marsha posted the story yet again on her Facebook page to use this "injustice" to gain more supporters for an upcoming HSUS Animal Rights Lobby Day in Oregon.  Note:  HSUS is an animal rights lawyers group who run no pet shelters anywhere in America and recently settled a RICO Act lawsuit against them last year.

Look at Brewer, doesn't he look perfectly fine?  Unfortunately Marsha Chambers didn't post this to show his excellent condition.  She had another motive.

This HSUS/PETA/Hopes Haven Supporter needs serious mental help.  He is upset that Brewer was returned to his owner.

He's been crying over the fact that Brewer the stolen dog was returned to his lawful owner?  Off and on all night and day?   Seriously?   Get a grip guy.  Brewer looks perfectly fine and always has.  But these mentally ill activists can't accept that.  On the Hopes Haven page there are calls to steal the dog again and to slap a shock collar on the owner.  Both crimes.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said there would be no investigation if Brewer was returned.  I think they need to take that back.  After all, activists on Hopes Haven are recommending that he be stolen again. Enough is enough!   They do not get to dictate their twisted views to the rest of us.  Handcuffs and orange suits all the way around.  And a mental health evaluation for Daniel Hartley please.  He needs it.

When Cyber Bullying becomes a Felony

It's winter.  Which means its cold out.  We are all cold.  But do you know who isn't?  Animals.   Animals in general are not cold.  Wildlife live their entire lives outside and never come indoors.  Ever.  No one is putting blankets on a deer and herding them into barns.  Many horses, cattle, and other livestock are used to living their entire lives outside.  This is normal.  This is natural.  There are many dog breeds, yes, dogs, who are also used to living their entire lives outside.  This is normal.  This is natural.  This is not animal cruelty.

Yet this weekend, multiple cases crossed my desk of criminal stalkers who have crossed the line from being do-gooders to belonging in handcuffs wearing a nice orange suit.  The first case I covered yesterday, you can read it here, the second case is covered here.

Stalkers:   Marsha Chambers/Ashlee Rogers, Oregon.

Marsha Chambers runs a business that she calls an animal rescue called Hopes Haven in Salem, Oregon.  Guidestar lists no tax returns for an entity calling itself Hopes Haven anywhere in Oregon.   I also searched the Oregon Department of Justice's website that has a searchable database for registered charities.  No Hopes Haven in Oregon.  Oregon law requires charities to register with them.  No Hopes Haven.   When you check website for Hopes Haven, they admit that they are not a charity yet they still want you to donate money and goods to them.  Why is that?  Why should the public donate anything to this for-profit business?  What I want to know is, is Marsha Chambers paying all of her Oregon taxes on her business proceeds?  Every single animal she sells, is a property sale.  A sale of a product.  She's required to pay taxes on the 100% market value of the sale.  Has she?

Oregon imposes a corporate tax based upon corporate taxable net income attributable to Oregon. If your Oregon income is solely from sales in the state, you may be able to pay a lower, gross-receipts-based tax. If you operate your business as a sole proprietorship or via a pass-through entity, then you must report your business income on your personal tax return.

Marsha Chambers crossed over into criminal territory while running her business when she started a cyber lynch mob by posting a photo of a chocolate Labrador Retriever and then saying, "This is Brewer this dog is in Marion that is suffering and nothing is being done about it."   Her claims are common.  Animal rights zealots all over America are using the power of social media to whip up lynch mobs which they send after innocent victims.   Chambers went on to post that Brewer the dog had no straw or blankets in his dog house and that he had no water.  The problem is.... this property had already been investigated by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Marion County Dog Control and the Oregon Humane Society for the past month and found no wrong doing.  Get that?  Nothing!   Brewer's owner was not violating the law and no animal neglect was found.  Brewer's owner has a fenced yard, the dog has free range of the yard, has a dog house with blankets, food and water.  Additionally, Brewer doesn't always live outside, the activists even admit that his owner had taken Brewer inside for the night.  But of course they said, it was only their pressure that caused Brewer's owner to do this.  Right.   But these animal extremists think that they know more than law enforcement and can dictate the terms in which owners keep their animals.   The activists even posted they had offered Brewer's owner $200 for his dog but he said NO.  He wants to keep his dog, period.

"County dog control, the Oregon Humane Society and the District Attorney's Office, along with deputies, have investigated numerous complaints and found nothing criminal about the way the owner was caring for Brewer, said Sgt. Chris Baldridge of the Marion County Sheriff's Office."

Then the lynch mob started on the Hopes Haven Facebook page encouraged every step of the way by Marsha Chambers.   Fellow activists asked if she had contacted "Dogs Deserve Better" the outfit owned by a convicted criminal and run out of Micheal Vick's former mansion in Virginia.  Others recommended contacting multiple media outlets from Fox News to Oprah Winfrey and suggesting that they "create the story" for the news.  Fellow activist Ashlee Rogers posted that she was going to go to Brewer's home and take pictures of him and his location.  She went on to urge that everyone keep calling the Marion County Police.  Ashlee Rogers then went on to post that she was going to contact the employer of Brewer's owner on Monday to continue her stalking of this person.  Others posted the direct phone numbers of Marion County Dog Control and Marion County's Sheriff's Office to keep up the pressure to fraudulently charge Brewer's owner with a crime.   A Craig Ziegenhagel posted all of the Counties phone numbers yet again and suggested that some one drive to the home and dump dog food over the properties fence.

Still others commented that complaints had been filed with the Marion County Sheriff, Marion County Dog Control, and Oregon Humane Society.  Then the inevitable happened.  Some people started posting talk of stealing the dog.  A "Jackie Robinson Davis" discussed using the Underground Railroad and moving the dog quickly and as far away as possible.  The AKC has reported on this issue repeatedly over the recent years.  Dog theft has skyrocketed in the past ten years, up over 70% at a minimum.  Some of it can be traced back to these activists who think they have the right to steal your dogs just because they don't like the way you keep them.

"Dogs are being stolen out of cars, yards, off sidewalks and even out of shelters at an alarming rate, according to the American Kennel Club."

Marsha Chambers deserves to be arrested for whipping a lynch mob.  She now claims total innocence in this case but her own actions in posting this story and then constantly whining that no one was helping created this situation:

January 3rd, 12:02pm

Guess what happens after dozens of posts claiming this dog is suffering from massive cruelty even though Marsha Chambers herself admits that Brewer's owner is following the law?   Surprising no one, an animal rights extremist stole Brewer and in the process, committed a Class C Felony.   The Marion County Sheriff's Office issued a press release offering a 48-hour amnesty to whomever stole Brewer as long as he is returned.

"Sgt. Chris Baldridge says the dog named Brewer disappeared Thursday night from his owner's fenced yard near Marion, Oregon, south of Salem.  The sheriff's office calls that disappearance a theft.  It followed recent Facebook posts that indicated interest in rescuing the dog."

Suddenly after she personally whipped up the mob, Marsha Chambers posts her total ignorance of the situation.  She just isn't sure what happened here but of course none of it is her fault. The activists of course don't give up and are now talking of how they can lobby for more laws to help take animals away from their owners.  Marsha Chambers posted that Oregon Lobby Day is February 12th so everyone can come and give their twisted views of animals to legislators.    Then Marsha Chambers posts a second "save her ass" posting to the Hope Haven Facebook page saying, "WE DID NOT POST THIS FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE BREWER."  Oh really?  Cry me a river.   And again the post degenerated into another thread about how all of these activists that Chambers riled up all need to attend the February 12th lobby day to get Oregon laws changed to how they want them.   After reading post after post I'm beginning to wonder if this entire cyber lynch mob was stirred up simply to get a larger attendance for their Animal Rights Lobby Day?

In my opinion, both Marsha Chambers and Ashlee Rogers deserve to wear orange.  They contributed to a felony.   I'd like to see some handcuffs and then a nice civil lawsuit against both.   You don't get to determine who is allowed to own a dog and who isn't.  You don't get to call people's employers and accuse them of animal cruelty.  You don't have that right.  I'd also like to see an investigation into Marsha Chambers tax returns to ensure that she is complying with all Oregon laws in regards to her for-profit business in flipping and reselling animals.  Marsha Chambers is currently offering 18 dogs for sale to the public.  By her own boasting, she has flipped and resold  at least 1,200 animals.  She is not a "rescue," she is running a for-profit business and she needs to be held accountable to all of Oregon's business laws.

Additionally, I recommend that law enforcement spend some serious time investigating a "Allen Marks" who posted on Hopes Haven Facebook page.  Allen Marks admitted that he has conducted "similar rescues" to Brewer's theft.   If he has, then Allen Marks is a criminal and deserves prosecution.   Brewer's owner was investigated three times.  He WAS following the law.   He is not the criminal here, the activists are.  It is about time they are held accountable.

Update:  The Marion County Sheriff's Office has reported that Brewer was returned to their office by the animal rights terrorist who stole him.  He looks just fine doesn't he?  Not starving, not emaciated and certainly not "suffering".

When Cyber Bullying Goes Criminal Part Deaux

The first case I covered yesterday, you can read it here, the third case is covered here.   Featured here is the Second in the Series.

Stalkers:   Nora Reed Zeller, Animal Rights Activist and "rescuer", Ohio.

Nora Reed Zeller is an animal rights activist and cat lover who wants you to give her money.  She claims to be part of a group called Fairborn Community Cat Committee, on Facebook under the name of Fairborn Cat Chronicle.  She loves to post on GoFundMe to ask people for cashola but don't worry, she promises it will go to the animals.  Right.  Here she's claiming she saved a dog from being hit by a car and people gave her $1,100.  In her most recent campaign she's asking the public to give her $3,000.  Thankfully not too many have donated so far.  Which means she probably needs a splashy case to raise her profile and get more funds coming in, right?   Well here you go.  Now you might wonder what dogs and chickens have to do with cats, but don't worry.  The fact that these animal rights extremists know nothing about proper animal care never holds them back.

In Zeller's case, she views her animal activities as some sort of positive "outreach" and today she posted on her Facebook wall that "the kids" are too whiny, touchy, disobedient while she's trying to focus on her animal advocacy and how frustrated she is that she hasn't been more successful in her stalking case against Cecil Benjamin.  Zeller isn't stalking people... no, in her fertile imagination she is simply conducting positive research and "outreach."  Outreach is a common term among animal rights zealots to cover their bullying and illegal behavior.

The case that has this woman so frustrated and angry at the children in her home is the stalking she has been doing of a local man named Cecil Benjamin because she doesn't like the fact that he owns two double coated husky mixes that live in his backyard oh, and he has chickens.  Double coated husky mixes are supposed to live outside.  Many huskies do not like to live indoors.  It's a breed thing.  Keeping a Husky outside is not animal cruelty.

Moral outrage abounds on her Facebook page where fellow activists have moaned and rung their hands over whether or not he has provided heat to the chickens let alone his abusive behavior to the dogs.  Animal rights activists have filed at least 10 complaints against Cecil since 2013 in a coordinated campaign of cyber stalking simply because they want to steal his dogs.  Zeller has posted photos of Cecil Benjamin's house, and posted his home address numerous times with repeated hysterical claims over his dogs.  Then on January 8, 2015, she posted a call to protest at his house since he was refusing her "help."

On the same day, Zeller posted an aerial photo of Mr. Benjamin's house at least twice with calls for people to blow up his mailbox and phone.  She claims this action is necessary because one of Mr. Benjamin's dogs is "broken in spirit."  Right.  What the hell does that mean?  And just how is this wingnut qualified to determine that?  She has no demonstrated knowledge of the Husky breed.  She then went on to slander Mr. Benjamin and his wife and called them "real backward" for refusing so-called help from animal rescuers. Others chimed into the thread that the Benjamin's were potentially cock fighters because they were adverting eggs for sale.  Oh, so any farmer who sells eggs to the public is now a cock fighter?  Give me break!

"apparently the guy caught wind of what we were planning and that's why the sheriff was at his house yesterday morning. He said anyone stepping on his property was to be arrested, then he called the news station and threatened them with a lawsuit if they did a story. Since he is technically within the law, the station decided not to do the story." Nora Reed Zeller.

Awww, cry me a river!  Given the fact that Nora Reed Zeller has this photo shown below on her Facebook page, Mr. Benjamin was right to call the Sheriff and demand protection from her.   He should also go to court and get a restraining order against her.

Besides Nora the Wingnut, several other activists joined her in protesting at Cecil's house including the "Backyard Dog Project" who complained that they offered the Benjamin's some hay and they turned it down.  Numerous activists have now apparently driven by Cecil's house because they posted up to the minute comments like, they saw a dog bowl out but he must have "just" put that there.

Cecil Benjamin has been investigated at least 10 times in the past year and a half and found to be in compliance with the law.  His dogs are just fine.  These do-gooders need to mind their own business and focus their zeal on animals who do not have homes like the ones in America's animal shelters.  Protesting at a private home because you disagree with the home owner is wrong.  Protesting at a private home because the home owner refuses to sell you his dogs is wrong.  Publishing his home address at least a dozen times with calls for people to do drive-bys is wrong.   Publishing his home phone number with fraudulent information about the Benjamins' is wrong.   There is nothing about Nora Reed Zeller's actions that is right.  I would suggest she spend more quality time with those kids in her home that she seems to disparage on her Facebook page instead of stalking strangers.

In all three of the cases I documented this weekend the media and the local law enforcement need to go after the do-gooders, they are the criminals wrapped in a faux blanket of moral outrage that borders on mental illness.   People today have this idea that their viewpoint of something somehow trumps the rights of others to have a differing point of view.  In these cases its easy.  The United States Constitution guarantees all of us the right to own property.   These outraged zealots need to be taught a lesson.  Their views do not give them the right violate the constitutional rights of others especially those who have been investigated and proven to not be doing anything wrong.

When Cyber Bullying Goes Criminal

It's winter.  Which means its cold out.  We are all cold.  But do you know who isn't?  Animals.   Animals in general are not cold.  Wildlife live their entire lives outside and never come indoors.  Ever.  No one is putting blankets on a deer and herding them into barns.  Many horses, cattle, and other livestock are used to living their entire lives outside.  This is normal.  This is natural.  There are many dog breeds, yes, dogs, who are also used to living their entire lives outside.  This is normal.  This is natural.  This is not animal cruelty.  Before you start screaming abuse when you see that livestock guardian dog out "abandoned" in a field, open your mind and learn about the world of dogs.  You just might find that you are wrong. That dog is supposed to be there, it is not abandoned and is doing just fine.  Mind your own business, in other words.

Today multiple cases crossed my desk of criminal stalkers who have crossed the line from being clueless do-gooders who just don't know what they are actually doing, to belonging in handcuffs wearing a nice orange suit.  That can be a fine line but these rabid #RetailRescue and animal rights folks didn't just step over that line.  They gleefully jumped with both feet, spitting on the line as they did so.  They deserve jail time.

Stalkers:  Cindy Schultz and Jordan Turner, Kenosha/Watertown, Wisconsin.

Cindy Schultz is stalking a horse owner named Lisa Edwards who has owned two horses for over 15 years.  Schultz has a pal in her operations, Maureen LaGuardia who also stalked Edwards.  These animal rights nuts have created such an uproar that a Deputy has been assigned to sit there on the property and protect two horses from animal rights extremists... and not from the animal owner who is doing nothing wrong. The Sheriff's Department has said the Deputy is there to protect the horses and their owner. The animal rights wingnuts in this case have stated that they believe the sole reason the Deputy is there is to prevent the activists from being able to take pictures of "egregious cruelty" that they claim is there.  As I said.  Wingnuts.

Here is what Sheriff David Beth says these wingnuts are doing, "According to Beth, a deputy has been posted at the site to stop people from feeding the horses, saying some people have been throwing bread, cereal and even dog food to the horses."The Sheriff's Department is being bombarded with calls over a non-issue and is now forced to assign a deputy to guard these horses.  A non-issue being made into an issue by animal rights extremists over social media to their deluded followers.   In this case, the victim, Lisa Edwards, owns two horses that live at a boarding stable.  By default, horses stables are barns.  They are enclosures.  But you know what?  Horses also go outside.  A lot.  In this case, the horses went outside with horse blankets on.  Get that?  They had blankets!   This is common.  This is normal.   The horses are in no danger.  Instead, various stalkers have filed three dozen animal cruelty complaints against Lisa Edwards.  Three Dozen.

"Several deputies have checked the property and the welfare of two horses being boarded at the horse stable. Each time, deputies found that the horses have protective blankets on them, proper food, a heated water trough, and shelter from the wind."

In fact a 60 gallon heated water trough.  That wasn't enough for these extremists who have kept up the pressure and kept filing baseless complaints.  Then the Sheriff's Department brought in a specially trained large animal veterinarian.  The vet confirmed that the horses are in excellent health.  You know who is paying all these costs?  Every taxpayer in Kenosha County is bearing the burden for all of this.  Yet even with that, animal rights extremists have been caught trespassing and force feeding the horses inappropriate food that could potentially kill them.

A Wisconsin animal rights group called Global Conservation Group (GAP) who advocates against SeaWorld and Chick-fil-A is also involved and has started a petition against Edwards and sent one of their "investigators" to the location to observe horses owned by Lisa Edwards and then created a Press Release claiming that "animal neglect" is occurring in what they call a "vacant lot."  A criminal offense.  This group is claiming that Lisa Edwards is a criminal.  Here's a clue.  The "Global Conservation Group" is run by a young college student with his daddies backing who has no legal authority at all.  They are not law enforcement and they don't get to dictate their demands.  This group self-describes itself as Wisconsin's largest animal rights group is run by a notorious 19-year-old college student and vegan animal rights activist called Jordan Turner.  A man who brags on Twitter that he ate Tofu for Thanksgiving instead of Turkey.  A man who has stated that his goal is total animal liberation.  A man who stated goal in life is to become an animal rights lawyer so he can accomplish that animal liberation he so desires.  This group of animal extremists that he runs also encourages the public to contact them if they can't get their local law enforcement to go after animal owners so they can step up the pressure.

I work for total animal liberation. Animals are not for us to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for our entertainment. Jordan Turner

To keep the frenzy going among the pitchfork carrying ignorant and clueless, the GAP group posted this on their Facebook page:

The claim that the horses have "no shelter" is 100% a lie.  The horses are being boarded at a horse stable!   If you read their press release it states that the Sheriff said, "We hired a vet at our expense, the case is closed. If you want any more info call in the morning. It was unfounded and has been closed."  But that isn't good enough for this animal rights extremist group.  Instead they have accused the Kenosha County Sheriffs' Department of committing a "grave miscarriage of justice."  You know what?  I actually agree with the extremists.  I think the Sheriff's Department is committing an injustice.  You know why?  Because the Sheriff's Department has not yet arrested any of these loons for stalking, harassment, defamation, and attempting to kill a horse.   What is even scarier is that 2,400 people signed this fraudulent petition in just 24 hours.  What is even scarier is that while the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department is wrapped up in dealing with dozens of loons calling their phone lines, emailing and tweeting them, every day citizens could be at risk.  Every day citizens of Kenosha County could potentially encounter a delay in law enforcement responses to their needs because the cops are being bombarded by extremists whining about two horses.  What if you lived there and you called 911 for assistance and no one came because the department is dealing with a terrorist attack on two horses?

Just 24 hours after creating massive histrionic internet campaign against their targeted victim, Turner issued the following statement:

"Just 24 hours after launching our campaign in an effort to provide adequate shelter for neglected horses, nearly 3,000 people signed our petition, called the Sheriff’s Department and shared our action alert. Your effort paid off! The two horses in Kenosha County, Wisconsin are now safe and secure in a barn. Thank you for being a voice for the voiceless."

Actually 2,400 signatures isn't "nearly 3,000" but animal rights activists always lie.  And guess what?  If the horses had a barn, they had a barn.  Period.  The horse owner didn't just build a barn in less than 24 hours.  They had a barn.  They have always had a barn, they are boarded at a horse stable.  These extremists didn't accomplish anything other than a massive campaign of horror against an innocent animal owner.  Turner went on to whine that he was going to be filling complaints with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Kenosha County District Attorney's Office.  All of these frivolous complaints take tax payer dollars to investigate and process.  He has also posted that they are filing an open records request to get the name of the veterinarians who have examined the horses, presumably so they can stalk them as well.

Horses are pasture animals.   Depending upon the breed, many live outside.  Always.  Some have three sided walk ins, some don't.   Some horses simply hate barns and won't enter one.  Some grow enough winter hair (giving them a shaggy appearance) making them perfectly comfortable outside.  Others sometimes sport blankets to assist in the cold weather.  Amazing enough, the animal rights activists photos of these two horses outside in a pasture show them sporting horse blankets!  Yet this numbskull college brat is whining that they are freezing.  The point is, the horse owners are experts in their care and its up to the owner and breed experts to determine what they need on an individual basis.  Not some internet cyber stalker who thinks they know better.

Turns out cohort Schultz doesn't even have her own house in order.  She has been investigated repeatedly over how she runs her private "animal shelter" that she's profiting from.  You can read the latest findings in May of 2013 after complaints were made yet again that she was running an unsafe and unhealthy shelter.  Here's another story from 2011 claiming the dogs were filthy and up to 20 were stuffed into each dog run.  Then there's this lawsuit from 2009 when Schultz was sued for failing to return a families dog.

As for Vegan Extremist Turner who spends his time stalking animal owners, he has declared that he is going to run for Mayer of Watertown, Wisconsin in 2016. Heaven help local residents.

Lisa Edwards is now in the process of trying to get restraining orders against Cindy Schultz and Maureen LaGuardia.  Schultz was right in one media story when she said this wasn't her first rodeo. Others have tried to file restraining orders against her on the past like this gentleman tried to do in 2009.  (Hint: Search for Nicholas Haas-Burkhardt vs. Cindy A. Schultz)

The additional stories of cyber stalking that crossed my desk this weekend can be viewed here and here
