Meet Daniel Andreas San Diego, Vegan, Animal Rights Terrorist, Accused Bomber.

FBI's Most Wanted Fugitive Felon.

San Diego was the first domestic fugitive added to the FBI's most wanted terrorist list after he was tied to three homemade pipe bombs that were detonated in 2003 at Chiron Corp, a biotechnology firm in Emeryville, and Shaklee Corp., a nutritional products company in Pleasanton.

San Diego, currently on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list, is presumed responsible for several bombs that detonated in 2003 at two California biomedical research companies. One of the two companies was linked to New Jersey firm, Huntingdon Life Sciences, a top animal rights target. These bombs were made up of the same materials used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.  

One of these bombs was accompanied by a “secondary” device, timed to detonate an hour later, after paramedics and firefighters arrived on the scene.  Like the majority of animal rights terrorists, human lives mean nothing to them. People like San Diego have no conscience and couldn't care less about innocent lives lost. 

San Diego is also believed to be connected to the criminals of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruetly (SHAC), who are opposed to all medical research using animals. Before the related bombings SHAC targeted HLS customer Chiron and its employees with a series of actions, accusing them of being "puppy killers."

Authorities allege San Diego bombed facilities in Emeryville and Pleasanton, California, because he believed the Chiron and Shaklee Corporations had ties to animal-testing labs.

The sophisticated homemade bombs had ammonium nitrate brand explosives and relied on "kitchen timer style mechanical timer devices," according to an FBI affidavit.

The blasts caused extensive damage to the office buildings but no one was killed. While the bombs were set to go off at night, remember, the bomber set at least one secondary device deliberately targeting first responders. That bomb WAS meant to take human life.  

San Diego was at the time attempting to start a business making vegan marshmallows.  If that doesn't scream privilege, I don't know what does. 

He was indicted in 2004 for four federal felonies and placed on the FBI's list in 2009.  

The bombing of the Chiron and Shaklee office buildings is what the eco-freak and animal rights movement call tertiary targeting. In order to shut down animal related businesses, these terrorists believe its perfectly acceptable to target other business and people with up to a 3rd degree relationship to the original business targeted. In this case, both companies were owned by a Japanese parent company who had a separate contract with Huntingdon.

Activists like to boast about their actions, here's one of their announcements:  

"On the night of September 25th volunteers from the Revolutionary Cells attacked a subsidiary of a notorious HLS client, Yamanouchi.  We left an approximately 10lb ammonium nitrate bomb strapped with nails outside of Shaklee Inc., whose CEO is both the CEO for Shaklee and Yamanouchi Consumer, Inc.  We gave all of the customers the chance, the choice, to withdraw their business from HLS.  Now you all will have to reap what you have sown.  All customers and their families are considered legitimate targets."

This could be YOU. All it takes is three degrees of separation between a target and you for the animal rights movement to come after you.

"He also has unusual tattoos, the FBI says, including a round image of burning hillsides on his chest with the words "It only takes a spark" written below. The sides of his abdomen and back have images of burning and collapsing buildings."

San Diego was under 24 hour surveillance in 2003 when he gave the FBI the slip in San Francisco. They have never found him since then.  Ariana Huemer, a Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) employee, may figure in the case.  An FBI evidence recovery log from the search of San Diego’s car describes a check Huemer wrote to him.   Ariana Huemer, besides being an HSUS employee, was the editor of a 2006 book on the history of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) a sister to the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) both terrorist groups.  Additionally bomb making materials were found in the car he abandoned to give the FBI the slip and found at his home.  

Huemer was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in 2006 but she pleaded the Fifth and refused to testify. Prosecutors offered her immunity and she still refused to reveal what she knew. Ultimately Huemer was employed by HSUS for 17 years before she left to found her own California Chicken Sanctuary called Hen Harbor. 

Huemer may have been able to walk away from the California bombing cases scot-free, and spend 17 years at HSUS but she hasn't gotten a complete free pass.  

In 2020, animal control seized 300 birds from her after a Facebook page called Hen Harbor Uncensored surfaced to expose the massive animal cruelty they say is occurring at her property and is even being committed directly by her. 

In 2011, San Diego was featured on America's Most Wanted, the first of 5 times he has been featured on the show. Tips poured in pinpointing a location in Massachusetts. By the time the FBI arrived, San Diego was no where to be found. Again in 2013-2014, tips came in that he was hiding in Hawaii. The FBI searched and once again came up empty. There is no way he's on the run this long on his own. Someone must be hiding him and providing cash for him to live on.

His father, Edmund San Diego, a wealthy California city bureaucrat has always refused to talk about his son.  One that isn't so shy is convicted animal rights terrorist, Kevin Kjonaas aka Kevin Chase who sneaked onto the Tucker Carlson show in 2017.  

Prosecutors also presented testimony from an FBI agent who gathered records of Kjonaas’ telephone calls. Those showed a call from Kjonaas to a man later charged with setting off bombs outside a California pharmaceutical company, Daniel Andreas San Diego, several hours after the bombings.

Kevin Kjonaas aka Kevin Chase also has his own listing in the Animal Rights Hall of Shame. 

The FBI is still offering a quarter of a million dollar reward for San Diego who is known to be armed.

Animal Rights Hall of Shame: Scotlund Haisley

Meet Scotlund Haisley.

High School Dropout. Drug Addict. Sex Predator. Armed Robber. Private Vigilante.

Scotlund Haisley like the majority of animal rights activists has no documented education in animals. Besides dropping out of high school, this heroin junkie couldn't even read until he was an adult. Like many criminals, he went to work in the 'animal rescue' field for a living.   He started working in animal shelters in Washington, DC, New York City, California and even took a turn with PETA. He had aspirations of stardom that working for a living just wasn't providing him.  He didn't want to clean up after and take care of animals, he wanted stardom, money, prostitutes and drugs.   Cocaine and heroin were his favorites.  

He was quickly hired by pal and fellow sex predator Wayne Pacelle to join the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) running an illegal private SWAT team. HSUS calls it "Emergency Services." Fine words from a vegan lobbyist group that doesn't run any pet shelters in America. After numerous raids of law abiding animal owners, the lawsuits started piling up. The first was Normal Pang of Hawaii. Falsely accused of animal abuse and labeled a hoarder by the media, Pang sued HSUS and Haisley in 2009. The Pang lawsuit exposed that Haisley was the one who developed the fake law enforcement looking badges that Haisley had the HSUS raid teams wearing.
  

“I want the scum to think we are law enforcement,” Graves said Haisley told them.  Graves and Schwartz then took their concern to then-Humane Society of the U.S. president Wayne Pacelle.  “I like the cowboy ways that Scotlund brings to the team,” Graves said Pacelle responded.

The problem is.  HSUS is not law enforcement.  They are a private Washington, DC vegan charity.  They have absolutely no law enforcement authority. 

“HHS [the Hawaiian Humane Society] and HSUS both launched a

media campaign of vilification against [Pang], accusing him of animal

abuse and neglect and other unsupportable acts of criminal conduct."

 Next Haisley led the illegal HSUS raid of Dan Christensen in South Dakota. His goal was to shut down and destroy a highly regarded hunting dog kennel. Dan Christensen fought back and proved that the search warrant was illegal and he had done nothing wrong. As is typical in these cases, the 'rescuers' actually killed 28 of Christensen's dogs through their inept and incompetent care. Christensen sued HSUS and Scotlund Haisley for $5 million dollars.

As part of the Christensen lawsuit an email from Meredith Shields resigning from HSUS came to light in which she stated, “Mr. Haisley told an employee of the Department to wear an HSUS t-shirt to a strip club while on deployment because “you’ll get better lap dances.”” The Christensen case was so egregious that Forrest Lucas of Lucas Oil financed a movie about the case and others like it where innocent American dog breeders have been targeted and framed.

In September of 2010, one year from the date of the illegal raid

that changed his life forever and destroyed his hunting dog kennel, Dan filed a $5 million dollar federal lawsuit against Second Chance Rescue, HSUS, Scotlund Haisley, Turner County, and the County Sheriff for going along with it all. Dan sued for the deprivation of his Fourth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights, malicious prosecution, emotional distress, criminal trespass, and intentional damage to private property. Here's a picture from the illegal Christensen raid.  Look how clean and healthy the dog looks.  The white parts of its coat are almost spotless.  The lawsuit revealed a number of hidden facts about the HSUS raid team from the mass resignations from those who didn't want to work for a drug addict to discoveries of his sex pervert ways.    After the lawsuits and controversies started piling up over HSUS's raids, he moved over to leading In Defense of Animals (IDA), lasting there less than a year.

Haisley then capitalized on his base of cult followers to form his own private vigilante force known as the Animal Rescue Corps (ARC). ARC was initially financed by Ady Gil, the same animal rights activist who gave a pile of money to the Sea Shepherd Society.  Haisley specialized in targeting the poor and the elderly for destruction. The media couldn't get enough of this dirt bag. He was labeled a hero and reporters fawned at his every word.   

Even when his drug use was front and center, reporters lapped it up.  When this heroin junkie was violently sick in front of a reporter in Nashville, Tennessee, he played a victim card and claimed the 'ammonia fumes' were slowing killing him. 

Conditions on a breeder's property during an animal rescue operation near Nashville were so toxic that the leader of the rescue team nearly died from ammonia poisoning.  ABC News 5, April 19, 2018. 

Local reporters gushed that he was suffering from these toxic environments these elderly animal abusers were living in and gee whiz!  This hero almost died and had to have a blood transfusion to live!   Let's think about this shall we?  Not one reporter in Nashville spent one moment asking why their vulnerable elderly were living in a supposedly toxic environment that almost killed a man 30 years their junior.   Why is that?  Why was an out of town junkie's word taken over that of their local residents?   Why didn't anyone spend 30 seconds on Doctor Google to find out that a blood transfusion is not any recognized treatment for breathing in ammonia fumes.  

After terrorizing Americans across this nation in many southern states, South Dakota, Iowa, Hawaii and others, he was finally ousted at ARC in September 2018. Not because he was a drug addict and criminal. Oh no! He was thrown out for embezzling money from what already is a con to start with. He wasn't sharing the wealth but was taking too much for himself!  His $100,000 salary just wasn't enough to support a wife and three kids with prostitutes and drugs on the side.  

In typical Haisley style he told an unquestioning media and his tens of thousands of cult followers that he was retiring 'for his health' because raiding animal breeders had put him in liver failure.  Dozens of sob stories followed along with GoFundMe campaigns to put more money in Haisley's pocket.

Funny enough, I don't know a single animal breeder who has ever died from liver failure - caused by their breeding animals.  

After leaving ARC, he was quickly arrested in Maryland for domestic battery. Turns out besides being an adrenaline junkie who terrorizes the elderly for kicks, he likes to beat up his wife!   Who's shocked by this?

According to the arrest report, complainant Lynne Haisley, wife of Scotlund Haisley for 16 years and mother of their three minor children, told responding police officers that Haisley “struck her approximately five times with a closed fist. Then he grabbed her by the neck, and began choking her. Ms. Haisley could not recall if he used one or two hands to choke her. Ms. Haisley estimated that her husband choked her for 30-60 seconds.

His arrests in Maryland for domestic battery and violating the subsequent protective orders were quickly followed by an arrest in Washington, DC for two armed robberies of the same Subway store. Yep, armed robbery!  He held a gun to the back of an employee's head to steal $300. 

His past decades of being a sheriff's darling and leading private vigilante SWAT teams is over.  At the end of 2019 he was sentenced to 46 months in prison for armed robbery.  I'm sure once he's released he'll start a new career as a misunderstood 'artist' like convicted university bomber Rodney Coronado.   Why not?  After all, when it comes to animals, Americans have proven they are pretty gullible.   As for the media, 'animal abuse' stories are a proven money maker.  They could care less that most of their stories are lies from start to finish.

Animal Rights Hall of Shame: John Hoyt

Meet John Hoyt. 

Financial flimflammer. Hustler.  Con Man.   Best friend of sexual predators. 

John Hoyt is responsible for shaping the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) into the monster it is today. He both expanded its goal to outlaw all human-animal interaction but also set the corporate culture of serial sexual harassment. Most American’s still view HSUS has some sort of umbrella animal sheltering group and regularly donate their hard earn money believing animals are being saved. They have no idea that like most national charities, the HSUS is just a powerful slush fund for fringe activists and doesn’t provide any hands-on care of cats or dogs.

Hoyt started his career as a Baptist minister, later moving on to the Presbyterian church.  He called the animal rights movement, a ‘church’ just like the ones he had left. Just like most activists in the animal rights field, Hoyt had no education in animals. Just a desire to turn his back on God and ignore the teachings of the bible, turning animals into a cult to be worshiped with rights above humans.

Hoyt didn't just turn the HSUS into a multi-million dollar cult. He is most famous for living high on the hog at donors’ expense and filling many high level HSUS positions with sexual predators and other garden variety con artists. Hoyt was HSUS’s president and CEO from 1970 to 1996. He took a half a million-dollar charity without much name recognition and turned it into a $50 million-dollar power player. HSUS also diversified itself in this period absorbing other animal rights groups and opening numerous state offices and other affiliates. But all wasn't quiet at the HSUS home front.

In response to growing outrage at the tremendous financial (and sexual) abuses taking place in HSUS, the board formed a ‘Deferred Compensation Committee” in 1983. The committee was formed to simply rubber-stamp Hoyt’s financial abuses and declare them righteous. Such as.

HSUS bought Hoyt’s Germantown, Maryland home from him in 1987 for over $300,000 and then allowed him to continue living there rent-free until 1992. Another funny accounting trick revealed that Hoyt was collecting money from a shell corporation owned by HSUS called the National Humane Education Center (NHEC). NHEC hadn’t operated since the 1970’s but mysteriously a bank account was opened in 1984 with a river of money flowing through it that somehow ended up with Hoyt.

These weren’t the only hidden perks that Hoyt was collecting while riding the gravy train. When his right hand wasn’t paying his left hand and subsidizing his wife’s overseas travel, he was engaging in shady transactions to hook HSUS treasurer Paul Irwin up to the gravy train. Hoyt personally signed many of the checks that funneled extra off-book cash to Irwin.  (more on Irwin in another article)  Hoyt also personally hired convicted pedophile David Wills to join the HSUS mother ship in 1990.   

Wills landed the presidency of the New Hampshire Humane Society in 1972 when he was only 19, the youngest person ever to head a major humane society. He got the job with Hoyt’s recommendation, a fabricated resume with a non-existent master’s degree in journalism, and a manufactured background with the Washington (DC) Humane Society. He left six years later amid accusations he stole funds, with estimates ranging from $10,000 to $2 million.

In all Hoyt spent over 20 years finding Wills one job after another in the animal rights field.   Each time glossing over his predator background, before bringing him to HSUS itself.

Internal Humane Society documents show that, in 1982, Hoyt received a $100,000 interest-free loan from one board member, Irene Evans, and that another, Regina Frankenberg, paid for overseas travel for his wife for several years. Court records in the District show that in 1991 Evans left jewelry worth more than $1,200 to Hoyt's daughters in her estate.

Fairfax County Probate Court records show that Irwin collected a $15,000 fee in February for serving as an executor of the will of Viola Weber, another board member. All three women are deceased.

The society in the past also bought a home for Hoyt, paid for renovations at a cabin used by Irwin and supplemented their salaries with money identified as "payments to annuitants" made through groups affiliated with the society. 

It comes as no surprise that Hoyt didn’t mention any of the uncovered hidden payments in his 1988 “HSUS Report of the President.” In the same year a group of HSUS board members contacted the Washington, DC law firm Harmon & Weiss and hired them to investigate the financial irregularities of Hoyt and Irwin.  When confronted with his activities Hoyt simply declared that as a minister he is used the church providing him with free housing and HSUS should simply do the same.

At the same time as Hoyt was living in donor paid housing and keeping his hand in the cookie jar, HSUS was launching new campaigns such as their 1988, “Breakfast of Cruelty” campaign.

In his “1991 Report of the President,” Hoyt would later brag about demolishing HSUS’s relationship with local humane societies, in favor of a more centralized power structure that left all the money in Washington, DC.

The previous year Hoyt started spay/neuter campaigns that blamed American dog breeders for animals being euthanized in shelters. For the next several years, HSUS ran constant campaigns blaming all of America’s animal shelter problems on breeders instead of putting the blame where it belongs. The inept or corrupt shelter management and owners who dump their animals. Less than 5% of dogs in shelters came from breeders or pet stores. 

Irwin held a press conference in 1993 attempting to push to outlaw all pet breeding in America. While new upcoming protegee Wayne Pacelle issued his famous quote that he doesn’t want to see another dog or cat born.  It was ironic that Hoyt started the campaign to outlaw dog breeding in America at the same time as he put into place an HSUS policy to reject any relationship to local pet shelters.   He wanted all the money right in Washington, DC, in easy reach of his and Irwin's sticky fingers.

In a 1993 letter published by the American Society for Microbiology, Dr. Patrick Cleveland of the University of California San Diego spelled out HSUS’s place in the animal-rights pantheon. "What separates the HSUS from other animal rights groups,” Cleveland wrote, “is not their philosophy of animal rights and goal of abolishing the use of animals in research, but the tactics and timetable for that abolition.” Cleveland likened it to the difference between a mugger and a con man. “They each will rob you — they use different tactics, have different timetables, but the result is the same. The con man may even criticize the mugger for using confrontational tactics and giving all thieves a bad name, but your money is still taken.”

Flash forward to 1994 and Hoyt was still writing positive performance appraisals of his protégé David Wills even though his faked resume, criminal background and numerous embezzling allegations and lawsuits had surfaced again.  When Hoyt was confronted with David Will’s past he shrugged it all off as ‘very ancient history.’  Critics at the time had no idea the extent of how much Hoyt had been supporting Wills and finding him jobs for the previous 20 years.   Wills was finally convicted of pedophilia charges in 2019.   

Last August, Washington lawyer Lynne Bernabei delivered a 21-page letter to Hoyt and Irwin on behalf of Virginia Bollinger, an animal cruelty investigator, and Cristobel Block, a legal investigator. The letter, included in court files, paints a lurid picture of unwanted sexual overtures that Wills allegedly made over a two-year period starting in 1993, from kissing and offensive comments to, in Bollinger's case, nonconsensual sex while she and Wills were traveling on assignment. 

Wills was finally forced out at the HSUS in 1995, not for his serial sexual predator behavior but because he simply cheated too much on his expense reports. He billed for expensive dinners for people who did not exist and fabricated numerous fake informant payments.

The shenanigans of Hoyt, Irwin and Wills finally became too much for the HSUS’ board to continue damage control. In 1995 board members started a movement to prosecute Wills for embezzlement and to terminate Paul Irwin and John Hoyt. The icing on the cake for the trio was a lawsuit filed against HSUS by the Humane Society of Canada.

Yet the society's troubles lately seem to be multiplying. On July 9, Hoyt received notice of a lawsuit filed in Toronto by the Humane Society of Canada, a group the U.S. society regards as an affiliate. That lawsuit asserts that Hoyt and Irwin, among others, transferred $1 million from the Canadian group's bank account to the U.S. organization without authorization. The suit goes on to claim that the U.S. group took the Canadians' donor list and grossly overcharged for administrative costs and overhead.

The head of the Canadian group, Michael O'Sullivan, said he regards himself as a friend of Wills, who is a godfather to one of O'Sullivan's children. O'Sullivan declined to comment on the lawsuit. Roger Kindler, general counsel for the Humane Society of the United States, also declined to comment except to say, "We will defend the suit fully."

Hoyt retired in 1996 with a nice fat golden parachute (rumored at $1 million), but remained in charge of the HSUS controlled Interfaith Council for the Protection of Animals and Nature.   He died in 2012.  A wealthy power broker to the end.  

Animal Rights Hall of Shame: Paul Shapiro

Meet Paul Shapiro.

Shapiro started his career as an animal rights extremist in prep-school (paid for by his lawyer daddy) by founding a group he called Compassion Over Killing promoting a vegan diet. COK made a name for itself by framing farmers with highly edited and exploitative ‘undercover’ videos that activists would sit on for months or years until just the right political time came.   As with most of these activists, Shapiro has no documented education in animals. Just an ideological opposition to eating them based upon becoming a vegan at age 13.  Like many today, his feelings matter more than science.   His actual college degree is in "peace studies."  Another useless liberal degree. 

While at COK, Shapiro was fond of protesting outside of fast food restaurants and on occasion, climbing up on their roofs.  Yeah, that's him below on the right protesting 'McMurder.'   

Shapiro has also volunteered with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). At a PETA protest outside one fast food restaurant, he carried a sign that said “The Meat Industry Equals Systematic Murder,” according to the Washington Post. As of 2003, he admitted to having been arrested a half-dozen times and having had to perform 40 hours of community service.

That's not all, COK, remember founded and run by Shapiro, used to frequently promote the Animal Liberation front (ALF) an domestic terrorism group under long term investigation by the FBI.   Besides promoting ALF activities, COK offered several ALF propaganda videos for sale.  By mailing money to COK, activists could get their own copies of these promotional ALF movies.  

After 10 years at COK making a name for himself along with Josh Balk and Miyun Park, he was hired by the Humane Society for the United States (HSUS) to launch a new campaign aimed at putting farmers out of business. Joining them in 2005, as the senior director for their so-called 'factory farming' campaign eventually rising to Vice President.  

In 2008, he was inducted into the Animal Rights Hall of Fame.  Instead like all of these activists, he belongs in the Hall of Shame.

By 2010, the complaints were piling up. Such as HSUS volunteer Ashley Rhinehart. Rhinehart met Shapiro at a talk he gave at Arizona State University, near where she was living. Shapiro made passes at her over the course of a couple of days, Rhinehart told POLITICO, “and filled me in on the fact he’s in an open relationship and that he was free to have sex with other people.”

Two days later, after she happened to see him at another vegan event, Shapiro asked Rhinehart, a 25-year-old registered nurse, to come to his car to examine a bottle of pain pills that had expired. He tried to kiss her, she said, and she turned her cheek. Shapiro went on to pressure Rhinehart to have sex for over a year. Starting in 2012 she was hired to work at the HSUS headquarters and almost immediately was targeted by predator Wayne Pacelle who kept trying to corner her alone in his office. When she reported his behavior Shapiro told her that Pacelle was also in an open relationship.

Every former employee who spoke with POLITICO said Shapiro had a habit of making sexual jokes in the office, and several remembered how he kept on his bookshelf a book called Sex at Dawn, about the flaws of monogamy. He openly discussed his philosophy of having many sexual partners with colleagues.

Still HSUS leadership covered it up. In 2015, Shapiro also emailed four male employees from his personal account a pornographic image of a man and woman having sex, according to a copy obtained by POLITICO. In another email, also from his personal account, he sent male employees an article about spider bites being a natural form of Viagra, the erectile dysfunction drug.

In September 2016 he was accused of sexually harassing a female HSUS staffer on a business trip to Boston. He told lewd jokes and walked around naked with a piece of clothing held in front of his penis. When she returned to the office she joined five other women in reporting him to human resources for sexual harassment.

“The women said Shapiro, the vice president of Farm Animal Protection, asked them to have sex and told lewd jokes in the office, according to a POLITICO investigation based on new interviews with seven current and former employees, including four of the women who filed the complaint. According to interviews, emails and an internal document reviewed by POLITICO, Shapiro suggested a female employee should “take one for the team” by having sex with a donor, sent pornography and lewd emails to male employees and discussed with colleagues his sexual philosophies, such as having as many sexual partners as possible. His alleged behavior, staffers say, led to the resignations of no fewer than five employees from 2015 to late 2017.”

Instead of being disciplined, the good ol’ boys at HSUS gave him a lateral promotion. Shapiro denies it and claims the new position had less responsibility but, in either case, his behavior was covered up and he was allowed to remain on the payroll for another 16 months until head honcho Wayne Pacelle was caught in a sexual harassment scandal of his own revealing that objectifying women is pretty much institutionalized at HSUS. Nothing shows this more than when Pacelle hired Scotlund Haisley, a long time heroin junkie who only worked in the animal rescue field in his words, because it gave him better lap dances from strippers.

HSUS VP Paul Shapiro resigned in January 2018. He was allowed to leave on his own terms despite numerous women having accused him of toxic behavior.  It appears he didn't learn anything in college when he was studying 'peace studies.'

Today Shapiro has reinvented his image yet again as the author of a book promoting plant based alternatives to meat, giving TEDx speeches and founding The Better Meat Co.

Meet ex-California state Senator Leland Yee. 

Leland Lee (D-San Francisco/Sam Mateo) is a long-time political operative and animal rights activist in California. He’s also a convicted felon. 

Lee spent a large part of his political career in the pocket of vegan animal rights lawyers like the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) pushing their anti-animal legislation on gullible California residents. When he wasn’t a guest speaker at animal rights activism seminars held by HSUS California State Director Jennifer Fearing, he was advocating for gun control and even more hysterically, “campaign finance” reform.

I do not think those words mean what you and I think they mean. For more discerning locals, they didn’t mean what Yee wanted them to mean either.

Rose Pak, a “Chinatown powerbroker,” told the Guardian that Yee had “no moral character.” She rattled off a list of her (unconfirmed) suspicions — “How did the guy manage to buy a million-dollar house on a $30,000 City Hall salary?” — but the gist was clear: Pak didn’t trust him.

That great campaign finance ‘reform’ that Yee was always advocating for meant that his office was for sale to the highest bidder. He regularly exchanged votes and agendas for cash as your typical play to play politician. From his first seat on a local school board, to a position on the city’s Board of Supervisors to state Senator, Yee was a master at talking out of both sides of his mouth. If you didn’t pay, he didn’t vote for your pet legislation.

"It also demonstrates the sense of entitlement that many of our elected officials feel they have to hold power," he said. Yee "wanted at all costs to hold onto power, and I think voters are tired of it."

When he wasn’t being paid for votes, he was shilling for the ‘cute puppy’ vote by promoting an animal rights animal-less vegan world while being a member of the California legislature’s Animal Protection Caucus. As part of his animal rights advocacy , in 2008, Yee sponsored a HSUS bill called S.B. 685. This legislation protects the rights of the wealthy elite to leave vast sums of money in ‘trust’ for their pets when they die. In reality, the money just goes into the pockets of the people in charge of the trust who use the trust to avoid paying taxes.

Leland Yee co-authored S.B. 1221 along with several other legislators to try and outlaw hunting Bobcats and bears with dogs. Joining him in sponsoring this legislation was now ex-State Senator Ronald Calderon (D-Montebello). In 2012, the California Senate voted to pass the legislation which now goes to the legislature to be considered and bobcat attacks on humans is now rising. 

In 2013, Yee was promoted on the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF)’s Humane Scorecard for being a co-sponsor of one of HSUS’s typical anti-animal bills, the anti-hunting bill A.B. 789 and a supporter of the rest of their legislation that year. Over 150 hunters showed up to testify in opposition to 789 but in urban liberal California it passed anyway.

While Yee maintained a clean-cut image on the surface, those who followed his career closely — and opposed him politically — have viewed him as a contradictory figure from the start.

He was never someone who could be trusted, they say. The signs of corruption have been there all along, and whispers about his beguiling character were part of why he came fifth in the 2011 mayoral election.

Yee’s long reign of corruption was finally stopped in 2014. Not because his fake concern for animals was uncovered. No, Yee was exposed when it was revealed that this dirty politician had been taking bribes for years and had a side business in illegally trafficking in guns.

Yee ended up sitting across from an undercover federal agent in a coffee shop in early March, brokering what he was told was a $2 million arms deal that would include the purchase of shoulder-fired missiles from Islamic rebels in the Philippines.

"Do I think we can make some money? I think we can make some money," Yee told the agent in a conversation recounted in a 137-page arrest affidavit. "Do I think we can get the goods? I think we can get the goods."

Yee was ultimately sentenced to five years in prison on racketeering charges for accepting bribes and offering to smuggle weapons from the Philippines for a New Jersey mob.

Busted the same year as Yee for similar bribery charges was another long time HSUS politician former California state Senator Ronald Calderon.

Meet ex-Senator Ronald Calderon.  

Ronald Calderon (D-Montebello) is a long-time political operative and animal rights activist in California. He’s also a convicted felon.

Ronald Calderon was also a long-time water carrier for the vegan lawyers of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). When he wasn’t being paid for votes, he was shilling for the ‘cute puppy’ vote by promoting an animal rights animal-less vegan world as a member of the California legislature’s Animal Protection Caucus.

Calderon is also well-known in Sacramento for accepting gifts, tickets to sporting events, and exotic trips from lobbyists, including first class accommodations in Hawaii, Las Vegas, and the AT&T Pro Am in Pebble Beach. Some estimates of the gifts from special interests are between $45,000 and $60,000, since 2000, significantly more than any other legislator.

In 2013, Calderon was promoted on the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF)’s Humane Scorecard for being a co-sponsor of one of HSUS’s typical anti-animal bills,the anti-hunting bill A.B. 789 and a supporter of the rest of their legislation that year. He signed a letter asking California Congressional leaders to stop the King Amendment to the Farm Bill which would have nullified the attempts of California vegans to control the nations egg supply and deprive the rest of America from enjoying a healthy egg omelet breakfast.

“We can’t let every state decide what’s going on in all the other states or refuse to accept their products,” King said. “We have inspectors from California that are now traveling around Iowa with their tape measures, measuring the cage sizes of our laying hens in Iowa.”

For American’s in fly-over country, they’d rather tell urban liberal Californians to go pound sand than listen to their arty-farty clueless ideas on how to raise chickens. Or as Congressman King, member of the House Agriculture Committee stated, Iowa should not be “held hostage to the demands of California’s vegan lobby and California’s regulatory agencies.” States do not have the Constitutional authority to regulate interstate commerce. Of course, state Senator “my vote is for sale” Calderon disagrees.

The indictment describes a scheme in which Ron Calderon allegedly solicited and accepted approximately $100,000 in cash bribes – as well as plane trips, gourmet dinners and trips to golf resorts – in exchange for official acts, such as supporting legislation that would be favorable to those who paid the bribes and opposing legislation that would be harmful to them. The indictment further alleges that Ron Calderon attempted to convince other public officials to support and oppose legislation.

Busted in 2014, the same year as his pal Leland Yee, Calderon was caught accepting tens of thousands of dollars in bribe money. He sold his office to the highest bidder and solicited jobs for his son and daughter from constituents. His son in particular was paid $30,000 for just 15 days of work over the summer.

“Mr. Calderon betrayed the public trust,” said U.S. Atty. Eileen Decker. “A basic premise of our society is that elected officials will not exchange their votes for monetary gain and that’s what Mr. Calderon did.”

“Here, defendant’s trafficking in his legislative votes (for, by contrast, over $150,000 in benefits) caused a reverberation of negative effects throughout California and put a stain not just on his career, but on the reputation of the state legislature,” Jenkins wrote.

“Here, defendant sold his vote not just to help pay for the expenses of living beyond his means, but for the more banal and predictable aims of corruption — fancy luxuries, fancy parties and fancy people,” Jenkins wrote, attaching to the file a photo Calderon took with rappers Nelly and T.I. at a Las Vegas event.

Calderon was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court in 2016. He admitted to accepting bribes. Huge bribes. Up to the end he kept whining about how he was innocent and this guilty plea would ruin his ‘legacy’ as a politician. Cry me a river.

“I did not really hear Sen. Calderon accept responsibility or apologize,” she said. “It was really about himself.”

While the judge was being forced to listen to Calderon whine about his life, his brother was starting his own prison sentence. Former state Assemblyman Tom Calderon was sentenced to a year in prison for laundering his brother’s bribe money.

Animal Rights Hall of Shame: David Wills

Meet David K. Wills.   

Convicted felon and pedophile with mob connections.

Wills, whose criminal convictions date back to 1973 for breaking and entering, was formerly the head of the Nashua Humane Society in New Hampshire.  

Wills admits he faked his resume from 1979, listing journalism degrees from the University of Maryland that he never got. Although he received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan in 1984, Wills said, he'd earlier doctored his academic record to mask time he spent in jail and on probation on a 1973 burglary conviction in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

Long time Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) president John Hoyt recommended Wills for the position heading up the Nashua Humane Society.  Wills took a quick exit in 1979 when money was found missing from their accounts.  His pal Hoyt quickly found him a new job as the executive director at the Michigan Humane Society.  Wills lasted there 10 years before the board began noticing that over $1.6 million dollars was missing from their accounts.  The animal rescue and shelter system in American is blindingly wealthy.   It took the loss of almost $2 million dollars before the board noticed anything was wrong.  A low level bookkeeper was made a scapegoat and was convicted of stealing $56,000.  The rest was never found while Wills whined that he was the victim and someone was 'forging' his signature.  

Wills quickly moved on and founded a group named the National Society for Animal Protection (NSAP) and started fundraising from his wealthy connections made at his former two positions.   His group lasted less than two years ending in 1991 before he was hired to take over as the vice president for investigations at HSUS.  Wills was sued twice by William and Judith McBride of Ortonville, Michigan and Sandra LeBost of Royal Oak, Michigan for not repaying money they had given him to launch his new short lived group.    At each prior job he was accused of embezzling money but the good ol' boys at HSUS protect their own.   They covered it up and hired him to head up 'investigations.'   Typical ironic move by the criminals in the animal rescue field.

Sandra LeBost of Royal Oak, Michigan, in June 1995 won a $42,500 judgment against Wills for non-repayment of loans made to help him start NSAP. She was never able to collect the money.

Wills lasted just four years at HSUS until he was sued in 1995 for sexually harassing and assaulting as many as 13 female employees.   The lawsuit was ultimately settled out of court.  Just weeks before he was fired, John Hoyt and Paul Irwin, sadly both former ministers, resided over Wills' lavish Mexican wedding to Laurie White, the former wife of PETA president Alex Pacheco.  Besides other charges, board members questioned why HSUS funds were used to pay for the wedding and to cover Wills debts from previous failed businesses.  Wills then filed for bankruptcy to protect him from the allegations of misusing money, to get out of having to lay the two Michigan legal settlements and to avoid paying a paternity judgement against him in Washington state. 

Washington lawyer Lynne Bernabei delivered a 21-page letter to Hoyt and Irwin on behalf of Virginia Bollinger, an animal cruelty investigator, and Cristobel Block, a legal investigator. The letter, included in court files, paints a lurid picture of unwanted sexual overtures that Wills allegedly made over a two-year period starting in 1993, from kissing and offensive comments to, in Bollinger’s case, nonconsensual sex while she and Wills were traveling on assignment.

Cristobel "Kitty" Block rose to the position of HSUS president after former president Wayne Pacelle was forced to resign in 2018 after serial sexual harassment charges were made against him.   HSUS has a long history of sheltering convicted felons and sex perverts.   Pacelle was recruited to HSUS by David Wills.   Block is a former employee of the dog killers of PETA.  Every time one of these con artists is exposed, they just move on to a different group with another whitewash of their background.  

Court records show that Wills denied sexually harassing anyone but admitted to commenting on the appearance of female employees, having sex with subordinates (other than Block), telling women at work he was the “predator, not the prey” while pursuing romantic relationships with them and using Humane Society funds to pay prostitutes.

A fondness for prostitutes is common in the animal 'rescue' field, just look at dirt bag and fellow ex-HSUS alumni Scotlund Haisley.  The law finally started catching up to Wills once again when he was arrested in Maryland.

In June 1999 Wills pleaded guilty to one count of embezzling $18,900 from HSUS between 1990 and mid-1995. Wills agreed to pay restitution of $67,800 to HSUS, and accepted a six-month jail sentence. HSUS and the State of Maryland agreed to drop six other counts of embezzlement, alleging thefts of $84,128.

Since 2015, Wills has been fighting federal sex trafficking charges for his alleged long term sexual assaults of a 9-year old girl in various locations in Texas.

"Wills and Losoya are both accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Brownsville, starting in 2012. When Wills moved to Rockport, the indictment states, Losoya would visit him with the girl so he could continue sexually assaulting her for money."

Lasoya pled guilty to selling her nine year old daughter to David Wills for sex in 2017 while at the same time he wrote and released a self-aggrandizing book on his 'career' in the animal rescue world.

“Losoya appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge B. Janice Ellington and admitted she was responsible for the continued sexual assault of her daughter which began in Brownsville in 2012,” reported John Morgan, then editor of the apparently now defunct Coastal Bend Chronicle. “Later, she traveled with the victim so that the attacks could continue. She further admitted that she did so in exchange for money. Prosecutors say Wills paid Lasoya to have sex with her daughter over the course of several years,” starting when she was nine years old.

As for Wills, he's currently out of jail, released on a $5 million dollar bail. Let that fact sink in the next time you are tempted to open your wallet at some sob story an animal rescue is promoting. Think of a man who worked his entire life in various humane societies amassing enough money to pay a $5 million dollar bond and afford enough high powered legal help that he's been able to avoid trial for 4 years while he plays around on his Twitter account.  

The multi-time postponed trial of former humane society executive David Keith Wills on a federal charge of allegedly trafficking a minor for sexual purposes has yet again been rescheduled. Wills is now set for trial in September 2019.

UPDATE!  

October 8, 2019, Wills is found guilty by a federal jury of long term sex trafficking of a child.  

"The jury ultimately returned guilty verdicts on one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, seven counts each of sex trafficking and coercion/enticement, one count of attempted coercion/enticement and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice."

He was taken into custody is now waiting for sentencing. 

Sex, Violence, and Animal Rights: Part 2

Today, the world has turned upside down.  What is good is called evil and what is evil is called good.   I have previously written about the many violent criminals and just plain lunatics who are now "animal cops" heading up various animal rescues and shelters.  I've written about urban vigilante and private Rambo Richard Couto who targets poor farmers.   I've written about quacks such as Ohio's Adam Herrera who stirred up a public firestorm over a fake story of dead skinned puppies.  I've written many times about serial dirtbag Scotlund Haisley who operates a private SWAT team because being in the "animal protection field" gets him better lap dances from strippers.   In part 1 of this continuing series, I covered more of the criminal backgrounds of many leaders in the animal rights movement who spoke at this year's Animal Rights Conference. 

Part of the problem is that almost all of the training local, state and federal law enforcement receives is conducted by animal rights extremists.  Almost no training is conducted by actual animal experts.   Particularly egregious are the law enforcement seminars that the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) gives for free to law enforcement nationwide.   This free training is conducted by fringe lunatics.   Sex perverts and convicted felons have infiltrated the National Sheriff’s Association and are now providing the majority of training that law enforcement receives on farming, zoo’s and pet owners.   Local animal control training is even worse.   While many localities take advantage of free training by HSUS and PETA, even more lunatics jump aboard in localities.   In 2013, the Virginia Animal Control Association offered law enforcement four hours of training on animal sex.  The 'certified expert witness' who taught the animal sex class has a degree in Business and Accounting, not veterinary medicine.

"As another part of their training, HSUS is offering to educate officers on animal fighting.   I wonder, does the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department even know that the HSUS “animal fighting expert” John Goodwin is not only a five time convicted criminal, a former member of the Animal Liberation Front (ALF), an FBI certified domestic terrorist organization, but also he was completely discredited in a Wisconsin court in2007."

While the animal rescue field is awash in legions of criminals who have jumped on the 'cute puppy or kitten' bandwagon to con you into opening your wallets, an even more dangerous criminal has infiltrated, that of the sex pervert.  One of the biggest exposes came by accident when reporter John Stossel, then working for ABC's 20/20 program in 2005, ran an expose on celebrated animal cop Dave Garcia of the SPCA of Texas and other out of control SPCA's across America who were stealing animals for profit. 

“[S]ome people who've had animals taken away by animal rescuers say SPCAs have acted like petty tyrants on power trips who use their police powers to steal people's animals. You counter with the statement that "[t]he SPCA of Texas has no police powers nor does it conduct or condone the "stealing" of people's pets." The Texas legislature, however, has imbued the Texas SPCAs with the power to raid people's property, remove their animals and terminate their ownership rights, when approved by the courts and exercised in conjunction with police officers.” John Stossel

When Stossel ran with his story on Garcia illegally raiding the homes of women to steal their dogs from them and frame them for charges of animal cruelty, even he had no idea the time that Garcia was  a convicted rapist.    Garcia served three years in prison in Arizona for kidnapping and raping a woman.   He also had drunk driving arrests in Arizona, Texas, and Missouri and an outstanding warrant at the time of the broadcast.    Garcia had a long history of working in the animal rescue field.  He worked for the Houston SPCA, the Humane Society of Greater Miami, the Humane Society of Missouri and the Denver Dumb Friends League.  Even more frightening, this convicted rapist was a "guest instructor" at the National Cruelty Investigators School. 

Even more famous is the scandal that hit the Louisville, Kentucky animal shelter in 2009.  Louisville Metro Animal Services head Giles Meloche was forced to resign after his sordid history became public.   From losing his medical license in his native Canada after he pled guilty to 27 counts of selling anabolic steroids without a license to massive sexual assault complaints filed against him.   He was replaced by Wayne Zelinsky who lasted just 14 months when it was discovered that he owned and operated a porn business. 

Then there's the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) alumni Arthur E. Benjamin who was sued by the federal government for fraud and sued multiple times for raping women.   According to these lawsuits, Benjamin has a 20 year history of sexual assault.    Then there is former HSUS Vice President accused pedophile and convicted felon with mob connections David Wills.

"Maria Candelaria Losoya,  55,  of Brownsville,  Texas,  co-defendant with former Michigan Humane Society president and Humane Society of the U.S. vice president for investigations David Wills,  has pleaded guilty to one federal count of trafficking a minor for sexual purposes,  acting U.S. Attorney Abe Martinez announced on August 2,  2017."

Lasoya pled guilty to selling her nine year old daughter to David Wills for sex while at the same time he wrote and released a self-aggrandizing book on his 'career' in the animal rescue world.   As for Wills, he's currently out of jail, released on a $5 million dollar bail.    Let that fact sink in the next time you are tempted to open your wallet at some sob story an animal rescue is promoting.  Think of a man who worked his entire life in various humane societies amassing enough money to pay a $5 million dollar bond. 

In Illinois anti-puppy activist Kathy Mehalko routinely slanders pet stores and claims they are all fronts for deplorable puppy mills raising dogs in horrific conditions.   In 2016, an Illinois pet store had enough and sued her for defamation.   Mehalko, using typical activist tactics, posted a picture of a dog kennel on social media and then claimed this kennel was the source of the puppies sold by Furry Babies of Illinois.  The pet store owner sued claiming they had never bought a dog from the kennel posted on social media by Mehalko. 

“In its suit, Furry Babies took umbrage with comments such as, “While their puppies are in the Furry Babies store cribs, their parents remain in small filthy cages with no socializing, no room for playing, no vet care, no grooming and sometimes even no food or water!” Furry Babies said the comments, which included photos of puppies in crates or dogs behind chain link, are false.”

In  August of 2017, Mehalko's 38 year old son Jason was arrested for criminal sexual assault of a child going back to 2008.  He was arrested by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department in Illinois for charges out of  Kenosha, Wisconsin.    He was released on a $25,000 bond pending trial and is barred from having any contact with any female under the age of 18.

Shocking no one who has interacted with Mehalko, she immediately posted that she was proud of her son.  

The cases listed here are just the tip of the iceberg.    Sadists, felons and rapists have discovered that the quickest way to get to your child, your sister, your girlfriend or your wife is through images of sad eyed puppies and kittens.
