Snowmaggedon 2010 Hits - the Whispering Pines Poodle story

The story of the destruction of the Whispering Pines Poodles at the hands of a vegan animal rights extremist.

Part 1 - Snowmaggedon 2010
Roo-Roo

As I approach the 10 year anniversary of the destruction of the Whispering Pines poodles at the hands of an animal rights extremist and the release of my next book, I'd like to walk down #MemoryLane

Picture it 10 years ago.
Snowmaggedon is here. A massive natural disaster hits Virginia. I like to think of it as a single event but in reality it was 2 back to back blizzards followed by a 'snow storm' over about a week and a half of time. The dogs and I spent 4 days trapped behind a wall of snow in zero degree weather without heat, electricity, water or phone. I wasn't alone. The entire county and region was trapped just as I was. Crews from North Carolina raced up the coast to help get NoVA's power grid back online. The power was out for hundreds of thousands of people.

It was part of a 1-2-3 punch for me. The first being the September 2009 stock market crash which destroyed the market for poodle puppies leaving me with far more dogs on hand than I normally had. As any reputable breeder does.. I kept and cared for them until I could find them homes.

Now Snowmaggedon hits. You wouldn't know it by this picture but I lived on a hill and all that 'ground' you see there slopes downward away from the patio. The snow is taller than my dogs as they struggle to hop through it to find a place to pee.

Grand Champion Trixie says, oh hell no, and is peeing right on my patio. Did I scold her? Of course not. The snow is so deep I can't even find my own car. Go ahead and pee on the patio. It's an emergency. I dare a pet owner to have done different. In emergencies you do what you have too.

I'm just 7 weeks from the destruction of all the dogs you see here.
